Vacancy - Building Control Administration Assistant


Location: York


Salary: TBC


Hours: Full-time - Mon-Thurs 8:30-17:00 / Fri 8:30-16:30


Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role:


We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our Building Control team as an Admin Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy office environment and has an interest in the construction and building control sector. The successful candidate will provide administrative support, assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Building Control department.


Key Responsibilities:


• Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries.

• Help process building control applications and documents.

• Maintain and update files and records.

• Schedule site inspections and meetings.

• Assist with invoicing and payments.

• Provide general administrative support to the team.


Skills & Experience:


• Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role (preferred, but not essential).

• Good understanding of building control preferred although not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Experience with database management or document management systems (desirable).

• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
